On the Volga River
Our cruise from Moscow to St. Petersburg offered many hours of
sitting on deck and watching the passing scenery (it didn't get dark
until almost eleven at night), beautiful sunsets, lots of families
swimming in the clean river, and old towns and industrial facilities.
We passed through roughly 20 huge locks. Our boat was very modern and
comfy. A couple of nice bars, two restaurants, friendly crew and a few
signs of Russian bureaucracy and regulations (evident as our leaders
tried to change some restaurant procedures, which they did). All in all
very relaxing, particularly after hoofing around for hours in high
heat. Scroll down a bit to see each image in its entirety.
